Zoho Invoice is free and capable. The question is whether your invoices need more than a general tool gives you.
What Zoho Invoice is
Zoho Invoice describes itself as free invoice software for small businesses, aimed at entrepreneurs, consultants, agencies and freelancers. It covers invoices, quotes, recurring invoices, time and expense tracking, payment reminders, online payments and a customer portal. Its pricing page states limits of 500 invoices a year and two users, with "Powered by Zoho Invoice" branding on the free account. Its product page states VERI*FACTU compliance for Spain and lists country editions that include Germany and the UK (read 17 September 2026).
When Zoho Invoice is the better choice
- You want a free tool with time tracking, expenses and projects, and your volume is under 500 invoices a year.
- Your invoices are mostly domestic or to customers outside the EU, and you are comfortable setting tax rates and wording yourself.
- You already use other Zoho products.
When EUFactura is the better choice
- You invoice businesses in other EU Member States and want the VAT treatment suggested from sourced rules rather than chosen by hand.
- You want VIES validation with stored evidence, and the mandatory mentions in any of the 24 official EU languages.
- You want checks for the buyer's Member State, and UBL (EN 16931) files alongside the PDF.
- You want the interface in Spanish, French, German, Czech, Italian or Polish.
