Customers and the company/VAT lookup

Add a customer with a legal name, country, and — for a business customer — a tax ID or EU VAT number. For a handful of countries, you can search by name or ID and EUFactura pre-fills the customer's details from an official public registry, the same way it does for your own company during setup.

VAT number validation

For an EU business customer, EUFactura validates the VAT number against VIES, the European Commission's official validation service, and stores the result. A validated VAT number is what allows a cross-border B2B service to correctly qualify for reverse charge — see "VAT treatment, explained".

Company and VAT number lookup are available on every plan for setting up your own company. Looking up a customer this way is a Business/Scale plan feature.
